About
The golden kitten
A family cat who never quite trusted a moved chair, and somehow gathered the whole world anyway.
The family had always loved cats, those small warm animals that make a room feel lived in. Before Hosico there was Misha, a Siamese who lived to fifteen and died of kidney disease. The house stayed quiet for a long time after that. When they were ready again, they weighed a Scottish against an Abyssinian and chose Scottish. The kitten who arrived was golden, shy, fearful, and full of fleas.
He was also funny enough that the photos began, first for the family, then on Instagram. Followers came from everywhere. People still stop for the same face: round, golden, and cheeked like a hamster.
Everything that is displaced might be dangerous.
Hosico is particular about play. A new toy lasts about a week, then he wants a shoelace, a sheet of paper, or a tennis ball instead of anything from the pet shop. He is wary of new people and new rooms. Shift a familiar object and he treats it as a threat.
Writers reach for the same comparisons: Puss in Boots, Garfield, a squirrel, a very large hamster. His breed is the Scottish Straight, his color is Black Golden Ticked, and he holds a steady weight near six kilograms. On Solana the name is Hosico the Cat. The symbol is Hosico.
Breed
Scottish Straight, also called Scottish Shorthair SFS 71. The Australian Cat Federation lists it as the Scottish Shorthair, and TICA as the Scottish Straight. It is not recognized everywhere, including in Russia. People often picture a Scottish Fold, the lop-eared cat. Where this breed is not named apart, the same cat is usually called a British Shorthair.
Color
Black Golden Ticked. The exact code is Ny 25: a warm golden coat with the ticking that catches the light, the same gold you see in his portrait.
Table
Baby food of chicken with rice or buckwheat, beef with pumpkin or zucchini, dry food, and almost every day a fillet of raw turkey or beef.
Weight
About 6 kg through the year. Closer to 5.5 kg in winter. By the end of summer he can reach 6.5 kg.
